Curious cat goes on two day adventure after escaping naive sister’s arms while outdoors, causing family fights and nightly neighborhood flyering until its hunger fueled 2 am return: ‘You know how stressful it is to go a night without your cat in bed?’

Some people, the kind who love dogs more than cats, have a bit of a skewed perspective upon how to handle the life of a cat. As every feline pawrent knows your cat is a creature of habit and so long as habits are maintained then everyone remains happy and scratch free. It is a great time to be alive. But the second someone goes and messes with that habit, well, all heck is about to break loose. And that is exactly what happened when this cat pawrent's sister decided it would be a nice idea to bring the cat child with her to the local store.

Now, as innocent an idea as this was it was also fraught with peril. For the cat child in question was an indoor/oudoor cat, but like 5 feet away from the house outdoors, not like crossing the street sleeping on cars outdoors. So of course once she had gotten further away from the house than she had ever been she leapt from the sister's arms and went on her merry way to explore the world. Thankfully the world did not provide for the cat child as she hoped it would have and she found herself back home sooner rather than later.

See, this is the problem. Some people just do not understand how fragile a cat’s world is. You do one little thing to mess up the routine or rules and all heck comes flying at you. It is the same if you naively buy fancy cat food the one time it is on sale. You innocently think you are doing something nice and out of the ordinary for your cat to treat them. But as far as they are concerned you are showing them the new normal. And for that moment forth you will be forced to buy fancy cat food or to watch your cat slowly starve as they go on an all out hunger strike.

Yeah we get it. You cannot get a cat used to something that will not be part of their everyday life and that does not come with very specific guidelines and rules. This cat now thinks the world is her oyster and that she has a whole lot of oyster sampling to do. And there is next to nothing that you can do to bring a cat like that back other than to be patient and hope their new normal is not better than their old…
